Position of the HKSPRAS towards the recent incident of 4 women falling ill after receiving intravascular infusion therapy arranged by a “Beauty Group”

The HKSPRAS expresses deep concern for the insufficient regulation of the practice of cosmetic medicine by doctors who have not received properly recognised relevant training and by commercial enterprises offering medical treatment under the disguise of cosmetic medicine. Statutory regulation of the practice of cosmetic medicine is long awaited in Hong Kong and should be implemented as soon as possible in the interests of the public.
