Brow Lift

Purpose

To correct brow ptosis and lateral upper lid hooding with age.

Details

Conventional brow lift entails skin resection above the brows or inside the hairline +/- suspension of the brow skin to temple fixation points.

Nowadays brow lifts are often done with incisions inside the hairline and suspension sutures are used to anchor the brow skin and forehead soft tissues to fixation points in the temples either fascia or skull via screws or other devices. Where upper lid surgery is also warranted, it may be possible to approach the forehead through the incision used in the upper lid operation. Some surgeons employ endoscopic technology in suitable patients.

Caution

It is not uncommon that eyelid procedures are necessary at the same time to give a more optimal result.
